From Lexington, Kentucky, Alan Bourne was a member of the Class of 1964 and an Economics major. A member of Alpha Lamda Omega, he was secretary of the fraternity in his Sophomore year and President in his Junior year. He was a member of Air Force ROTC. At his graduation on 7 June 1964, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force Reserve.
